From Inside the House – W.D Jackson Smart

Firstly how creepy is that cover ???? It’s day one do the blog tour for book two in the D.I Graves series and ohhhh I’m already hoping and waiting for book three. My many thanks to Panther Publishing and Emma at Damppebbles for having me on the tour and sorting me out a copy. Now while I still gather my thoughts I will let you look at the blurb

Blurb

Two victims. Brutally murdered in their own home. Body parts taken.

D.I. Graves is back on the case to face his toughest challenge yet. A case with no motive and no suspect, nothing at all that could explain why someone would kill innocent people in such a way.

Then the next victims are discovered. Another pair of bodies. New body parts taken. Again in their own home.

Someone is breaking into houses across the city at night, leaving horror in their wake. It seems to Graves that this could be two serial killers, working together. But how are they choosing their victims? Is any house in London a target? Is anyone safe?

To make matters worse, a journalist is threatening to cause more harm than good with her obsessive push in covering the story to further her career, and someone is targeting Graves personally, seeking revenge against him in relation to an old case.

Can Graves keep himself safe long enough to stop the serial killers before they strike again?

Well O-M-G welcome to the King of Horror/Crime thriller WD what a friggin read!!!! Guess who’s back, back again Graves is back , back again.

Now you can read From Inside the House as a stand-alone but I highly recommend reading them in order starting with The Demon’s Beneath.

Right I am still trying to get over OMG to actually find more words to review this books but I have been left rather speechless , you see I was sucked in then spat out back into reality and left with a book hangover.

We get to see Graves and Palmer developing their friendship but things from their pasts cloud their judgement a little bit at times .

From Inside the House gave me the creeps, I mean the cover is already rather creep then the fact the book sounds like a horror film. The whole I’ll read this in bed all cosy but peer over the duvet each time I heard a noise hoping their was no serial killers lurking about creeps. Yes I peered over the duvet numerous times wondering why I put myself in these situations, oh yeah cause it’s better than moving from the couch and walking through a dark house to get into bed and the fact I love the fact it creeped me out.

Now as you all know or may not but I hate spoiling anything when I write a review so please just pick up a copy of the book and read it, you won’t regret it. As well as trying to stop Serial killers in their tracks, Graves also has something sinister going on in his life and well the suspense was just ahhhhh. We also have journalist Kelly who will really go to great lengths and pretty much do anything to get her perfect story. I didn’t like her all that much really.

I do love Graves however and I loved seeing the friendship developing, he has a lot to cope with does Graves and he is just a really likeable character. He isn’t really rough or macho but is not a softy either, just an all round down to earth guy who has feelings.

From inside the House certainly packs a punch within its pages, it’s thrilling, chilling and the suspense is just ahhhh. Yip now I’m just being a parrot but seriously what a frigging book.

I only put this book down once and that wasn’t through any choice of my own! The stupid Kindle died reminding me why I love my paperbacks.

Sorry a rather short review but I blame WD he left me completely and utterly speechless, so if your looking for a book to cosy down to in the dark evenings then From Inside The House is the book for the job.

Check out the other amazing bloggers who will probably most likely have a few more words to say on the matter
