Happy Monday, today I get to bring you my review of Comatose by Jane Badrock for the blog tour organised by ZooLoo blog tours. Thank you to ZooLoo for having me on the tour and organising a copy of the book for me to read and review. Comatose was published by Question Mark Press on the 22nd April 2021, so now is the perfect time to get your hands on a copy.
COMATOSE….. and her nightmare is just beginning. Two Crashes, one Location, one survivor
Newly promoted DS Karen Thorpe is determined to prove these are no accidents.
But the only witness is in a coma.
Now there’s a rapist on the loose.
Karen’s in the fight of her life….. And her boss isn’t on her side
Now not much is given away, and I want to keep my review on the same basis, without giving too much away. Sorry but I don’t want to ruin any bits at all for you if you decide your going to pick it up.
Comatose starts off in December with a car crash that DS Karen Thorpe believes is no accident. We kick off with a good pace and you can’t helped but get sucked in to the storyline and what’s happening, seconding guessing everything and when another accident happens on the same stretch of road, the bee in Karen’s bonnet gets even bigger about them not being accidents and sets out to prove it. Her boss isn’t keen on her digging to deep with one of the families but Karen is determined to uncover why that is. I really liked Karen as a character, she is messy, funny and straight talking. Karen is one of those characters that you can’t help but like, and it makes for some pretty interesting character dynamics with her work colleagues.
Comatose is very cleverly written with a cracking storyline that contains plenty of twists and turns. With short chapters that certainly pack a punch. It keeps you engaged and wanting to read more.
A highly enjoyable read that kept me on my toes and wanting to get to the bottom of the truth a bit like Karen herself.
A short review from me today with no rambles, which makes a change but I really did feel when I sat down to write this review that I didn’t want to give anything away so to speak a bit like the blurb. I feel with Comatose the less you know before you pick it up the better the read it will be for you. Remember Comatose is out now, published by Question Mark Press if you fancy getting your hands on a copy. Thank you again to ZooLoo blog tours for having me on the tour.
